2D Position Data

Displays dynamically the values under the cursor.
  • X - Displays the X position in real numbers (calibrated)
  • Y - Displays the Y position in real numbers (calibrated)
  • Intensity - Displays the current point intensity (0 = Black, 255 = White). Useful if need to select a detection threshold (see below).
  • Threshold - This is in effect a discriminator to exclude any points that are above this value (brighter).  Move your cursor over the plot data and check it's intensity, then over any noise or grid lines on the graph.  Your threshold should be below the noise/grid levels and above the plot data levels.  The scanner will then ignore any levels above this value.  (0 = Black, 255 = Brightest-white).

Note:  After the image is imported, the program checks to see if it is b/w-grey or color.  If b/w-grey the threshold box background will be white.  If the image has any color content the threshold box background will be cyan.  The threshold levels are only valid with b/w-grey images.  If it is a color image use the color discriminator controls to establish image scan thresholds.

Hint:  Converting the image to grey scale may improve the scanning process and reduce the amount of time the user uses the locate the proper discrimination color.  Use the menu Option|Grey scale to do this.
